HOW WE DO THINGS

HOW WE DO THINGS

With a full-service studio, decades of expertise, and a collaborative spirit, we craft homes that are sophisticated yet personal, timeless yet alive. Our work balances contemporary foundations with classical details, bringing warmth, soul, and a touch of daring to every project.

We invite our clients into a rich creative world, drawing inspiration from art, fashion, architecture, and culture to spark curiosity and expand perspectives. Whether delivering a turnkey transformation, a focused refresh, or a one-on-one consultation, we approach every project with rigor, creativity, and care.

Rooted in a belief that design can be both beautiful and purposeful, we champion sustainability through vintage sourcing, thoughtful material choices, and our Give- Back Initiative, which supports environmental and social causes around the globe. Through soulful design, shared curiosity and cultural exploration, we give you the tools to discover, cultivate, and express your good taste.

FULL SERVICE

FULL SERVICE

Comprehensive, turn-key design leadership

Comprehensive, turn-key design leadership

Full Service projects typically involve the design of an entire home, from architectural finishes to accessories. Project managers oversee every step of the design and work closely with your architect and contractor to ensure all parties deliver in a timely manner. ZF team members are on site frequently to oversee construction work and other installs, such as window treatments, carpeting, wallpaper hanging, and more.

This is a white-glove offering, with the option to receive a truly turn-key end result by enlisting organizers and even stocking your home with your preferred home essentials. We take on a select number of full-service clients each year in order to allocate plenty of time to each project.

DEMI

DEMI

Design-led, self-managed service

Design-led, self-managed service

Demi is a service tailored to clients who prefer to prioritize our designs and product over project management, and typically have smaller scopes of work and minimal construction. Unlike Full Service, clients are responsible for overseeing work by secondary vendors (contractors, electricians, window treatment installers, etc). We provide you with resources to oversee these vendors and will touch base with them if needed.

Like Full Service, we still create budgets and finish schedules, procure all furnishings, and coordinate a final install. Most meetings are held virtually, while local clients are offered in-person checkpoints. Note: We design full rooms only.

Zoë Feldman

Zoë Feldman

Founder and Principal Designer

Founder and Principal Designer

Zoë Feldman’s signature, seamless blend of modern and classic is rooted as much in her upbringing as it is in her early design training. Raised in a mid-century modern home by art and furniture collectors and gallerists, Zoë honed her clean-lined instincts at Parsons School of Design in New York. But she credits the subsequent years working under the tutelage of AD100 designer Alexa Hampton at the iconic Manhattan-based firm Mark Hampton, Inc, for opening her eyes to the benefits of a just-so, traditional approach.

Since setting up her own practice in 2004 in Washington, D.C.’s historic Georgetown neighborhood, Zoë has launched a second office in New York City and continues to bring her unique take on modernized classicism to homes across the country. Her work has been featured in publications including Architectural Digest, Elle Decor, House Beautiful, Domino, and more. Zoë draws on her love of the practical, the playful, and the deeply personal to create spaces that are as inviting and soulful as they are sophisticated.
