Embassy Row Revival

Our overhaul of this former embassy building, at 1910 Beaux-Arts brownstone, was a study in combining classic bones with modern function. Paying special attention to the home’s history, we added time-honored architectural details like mosaic marble flooring, exposed washstands, and industrial lighting. Storage was made abundant through custom cabinetry throughout, and the ground-floor kitchen boasts all modern amenities but feels as if it’s been there forever. What could have been an imposing, heavy home now exists as a bright, inviting space that feels both elegant and approachable.

“We wanted to modernize the kitchen while retaining this historic home’s classic feel. Our goal was to infuse the space with some unexpected moments without making it feel too saturated.” - Zoë Feldman to Luxe (2023)

"A good kitchen is a workhorse. I subscribe to the belief that you can have a beautiful kitchen without being precious about maintenance. Knicks and stains are part of the charm of a great kitchen—I cut things directly on my marble countertops." - Zoë Feldman to Luxe (2023)
