We breathed life into a historic Washington, D.C., townhouse by merging vintage character with modern living notes to craft a space brimming with soul and style. We anchored the living room with a rich ochre velvet sofa and layered in vintage accents, woven around eclectic art drawn from the homeowners’ collection. Performance-friendly finishes like vegan leather, low-pile rugs, and durable fabrics ensured the design remained resilient to life with a dog. In the master suite, floral William Morris wallpaper sets a serene tone, while the bathroom brims with visual richness—from bold navy herringbone tile to daring installations like a shower with exposed plumbing. We introduced graphic wallpaper, black-painted ceilings, and lush green cabinetry to enliven the dining and kitchen spaces, and curated the entry around worn-at-the-edges vintage finds, embracing their imperfections as part of the home’s story. Above all, we designed a home meant to evolve over time, one that continues to welcome new art, furniture, and personality.

"Feldman played up the home's history by incorporating carefully chosen vintage furnishings. For a sense of contrast, she layered the one-of-a-kind pieces with modern touches and eclectic art from the couple's personal collection." - Monique C. Valeris, Elle Decor (2020)

“When a vintage piece came in and it was not 100 percent perfect and had a little nick or dent in it, they were totally fine with that because it was part of the story." - Zoë Feldman to Elle Decor (2020)
