Georgetown Modern Classic
We reimagined a Georgetown townhouse for a multigenerational family by shedding its formal dining room in favor of practical, personality-rich living. In the kitchen, we installed a hardworking layout with two dishwashers and a beverage fridge, anchored by a banquette wrapped in checkerboard fabric and framed by floor-to-ceiling white oak cabinetry. We layered in thoughtful textures—ribbed glass, plaster-clad range hood, and custom outlets—to elevate everyday details. Off the kitchen, we carved out cozy alcoves, infused heirloom pieces to honor the wife's parents, and used a textured limewash for an inviting TV room that’s both loungy for grown-ups and perfect for kids to play. Durable finishes—from fire-engine‑red mudroom cabinetry to terracotta tile and family-proof handles—ensure the home is as functional as it is beautiful.

“It’s the little choices—the plaster-wrapped hood, the marble-backed outlets, the playful red cabinetry—that make the home feel special, even as it stays durable and easy for kids, parents, and grandparents alike.” - The homeowner to Domino (2023)

“We nixed the formal dining room in favor of a multifunctional space that could handle everything from big family dinners to casual weeknight meals—a shift that made the whole house work harder for multiple generations under one roof.” - Zoë Feldman to Domino (2023)
